At its Jan. 7 meeting the Board of Commissioners approved several operational contracts and capital replacements. Commissioners voted unanimously to accept Archie's quote to replace two 15‑ton rooftop units at the McNaughton Street building; the minutes record Archie's at $26,670 per unit and a competing quote from Fire & Ice at $27,500. Funding for the replacements will come from the county’s SPLOST account.
The commission also unanimously approved renewal of the zoning contract and a rate increase for the county attorney on separate motions. The board authorized entering into a Letter of Agreement with the River Valley Regional Commission and approved Ingram Engineering as the county’s CDBG engineer after reviewing RFQ scores; Ingram received 67 points, the next highest applicant scored 62. Rick Morris, who attended to explain the scoring and RVRC agreement, said the county’s prior application had failed last year because of audit issues and that refinancing rewrite fees are $500 for a rewrite or $750 for a new application.
The meeting record also includes a December engagement letter and standard terms from Clark Hill, PLC describing the firm’s role to serve as county attorney and billing terms. No formal disputes or contested procurement outcomes were recorded in the minutes.
The board entered an executive session later in the meeting for legal matters and reconvened before adjourning.
