Deputy Sheriff Captain Joe Bosman presented an Interlocal Agreement between Minnehaha County and the City of Sioux Falls for the 2020 Byrne Justice Assistance Grant (JAG) Program award. The total award is $115,681.00; under the proposed joint spending plan the City would receive 65% ($75,192.00) and the County 35% ($40,489.00).
Commissioner Barth moved and Commissioner Beninga seconded a motion authorizing the Vice Chair to sign the interlocal agreement. The motion carried with 4 ayes recorded.
The JAG program provides local governments funding for law enforcement-related programs, training and equipment. The approved interlocal agreement formalizes the allocation and allows implementation per the joint spending plan.
