Electoral board meets with Charlotte Court House officials on ADA fixes and use agreement

During its Sept. 1 meeting, the Charlotte County Electoral Board reported that Chairman Glenn Baker and Secretary Aubrey Fane had met with the Charlotte Court House Town Council to present required changes to bring a town facility into ADA compliance and to deliver a Use Agreement for the town’s consideration.
Baker said they provided the town council copies of the recommended ADA modifications and that the council asked when the work would need to be completed. The board also provided a Use Agreement, which the council accepted for review and said it would return an answer after consideration. Baker scheduled a follow-up meeting with the town council for Sept. 13 in Phenix.
Board members also noted related outreach to local churches to review building issues raised by the inspector: White Oak Grove Church (contact: Carol Lockett) and Shiloh Baptist Church (contact: Eugene Wells) will arrange meeting times to address the inspector’s concerns.
The board did not record any formal approvals or binding deadlines during the meeting; the town council’s acceptance of the Use Agreement was for consideration, not final adoption.
