Planning & Zoning public hearings set; Shasta Power expected to return to commissioners

County Counselor Jim Emerson told the board that the Planning & Zoning public hearing on zoning matters will be held on March 5 at 5:30 PM at the Girard Civic Center, with a second public hearing scheduled for March 26 at 5:30 PM on the third floor of the Crawford County Courthouse. Emerson said the March 6 county commission meeting will include a presentation from Shasta Power and that Shasta Power was expected to return to the commission on that date.
Emerson confirmed the public may speak at the March 5 hearing. Commissioners were advised they may attend but should refrain from commenting to preserve the public hearing process. Emerson said the relevant documents are posted on the county website and that staff were working to provide livestreaming for the hearing.
The board also listed other upcoming items including work sessions on RHID and the Community Corrections FY2027 Comprehensive Plan and scheduled bid openings for culverts and mowing.
