County Counselor Jim Emerson presented the Crawford County 2026 Noxious Weeds Management Plan and the 2026 Noxious Weeds Eradication Progress Report at the Feb. 27 meeting of the Board of Crawford County Commissioners. The board voted unanimously to approve the plan and the progress report.
The documents, Emerson said, are required submissions to the State of Kansas. The board approved the measure on motion 26-095, with Commissioners Bruce Blair, Tom Moody and Carl Wood recorded as voting in favor.
The approval authorizes county staff to proceed with eradication activities and reporting under the plan. The materials presented to the board included the management plan and an accompanying progress report; the minutes record that both were accepted "as presented." No funding details tied directly to the plan were included in the meeting record.
The board did not record additional discussion or amendments to the plan during the meeting. The next procedural steps, as noted in the minutes, are submission of the approved plan and report to the State of Kansas.
