The motion passed on a roll-call vote: Baker — yes; Foster — yes; Fane — yes. The board exited the closed session at 9:48 a.m.
Following the closed meeting, the board voted to certify compliance with the Virginia Freedom of Information Act and the closed-meeting certification statute, §2.2-3712. The certification motion also passed on a roll-call vote with votes recorded as Fane — yes; Baker — yes; Foster — yes. The board then returned to public session and recorded the CAP precinct totals as Early Voting in person — 163 and Vote by Mail — 94. Envelope #2A was transported to the Clerk of the Circuit Court for secure storage by electoral board members.
The board reconvened at 11:45 a.m. on March 8 to count mail ballots returned by the noon deadline. Chairman Baker, Vice Chair Foster, Secretary Fane and General Registrar Booth were present. No additional ballots were received; at 12:15 p.m. the board reported the canvas completed, all official forms were completed, signed and sealed, and Mr. Foster moved to adjourn. The motion carried without objection.
