Durham County’s Board of Commissioners unanimously approved a broad consent agenda at its Nov. 10, 2025 meeting that bundled dozens of routine and substantive items, including procurement contracts, lease renewals and multiple budget and capital-project amendments.
Key items approved as part of the consent agenda included a 10-year contract with Axon Enterprise, Inc. for $3,112,658.44 to purchase replacement and additional Taser equipment for the Durham County Sheriff’s Office; authorization to create a Fire Marshal position within the Office of Emergency Services; and a contract amendment with Batteries of NC & S.W.S. LLC for $108,168.06 for FY26 vehicle equipment.
Other approvals included two lease renewals for the Shoppes of Hope Valley (a 9-year lease with Lee and Cho, LLC d/b/a Beautysmart totaling $1,041,009 and a 3-year assignment/extension with MAGC Wireless valued at $74,182), purchase authority for five ambulances through the SAVVIK Cooperative not to exceed $2,119,440, acceptance of an 8.2-acre conservation easement donation at 5824 Garrett Road, and several budget ordinance amendments shifting and recognizing funds across general and capital budgets. The Board also approved a capital project amendment reducing the Body-Worn Camera project by $587,393.88 and appropriating those funds to the Sheriff’s operating budget to continue a lease agreement for body cameras.
Chair Nida Allam asked for any pulls; with none, Commissioner Wendy Jacobs moved approval of the consent agenda and Commissioner Michelle Burton seconded. The motion carried unanimously.
The consent agenda included several items marked for accounting or ordinance text in the minutes; when specific implementation steps or reporting dates are required, departments will follow standard procurement and contracting procedures.
