The Quay County Board of Commissioners voted unanimously Dec. 8 to approve two budgetary adjustments and the county payment report. Finance Director Samantha Salas presented Resolution No. 23, a requested budgetary increase to the Indigent Fund that records $89,100 in gross-receipts-tax revenue and allocates funds to salaries and benefits for detention-center nursing and medical personnel; the board approved the resolution on a motion by Commissioner Brian Fortner, seconded by Commissioner Dallas Dowell.
Salas also presented Resolution No. 24, which records a $600,000 state legislative appropriation to the County Improvements Fund for capital outlay, specifically noted in the meeting packet as funding for the purchase of a roller and a backhoe; the resolution was approved unanimously. The board then approved the accounts-payable/payment-approval report.
Meeting materials included the specific budget-line entries for Resolution No. 23 (for example, entries to salaries, FICA, retirement and life-insurance lines) and the notation that Resolution No. 24 is tied to capital-equipment purchases. The resolutions will take effect following required approval by the Local Government Division of the Department of Finance and Administration, as noted in the resolution language presented to the commission.
