Commissioners approve routine business: budget calendar, contracts, personnel requisitions and plat map

At the Feb. 26 workshop the board unanimously approved a finance/budget calendar, multiple contract and invoice payments (fuel, culvert design, wastewater), an out-of-state travel request, personnel requisitions across departments, CIS invoices, and the Harbeck Meadows Phase 1 subdivision plat; Commissioner Smith was appointed to the Solid Waste Agency vacancy.
Josephine County commissioners on Feb. 26 approved a slate of routine administrative and financial items during the administration workshop.
The board approved the 2026 finance/budget calendar presented by Finance Director Ruth Nelson. Commissioners also approved an out-of-state travel request from Community Justice for two employees (cost $13,094, budgeted within the department); Amendment No. 1 to the Josephine County Treatment Court Foundation Agreement (date corrections, no additional cost); and an invoice to WECO for $31,560.66 for fuel charges.
Public Works reported and the board approved a $26,270 contract for design and engineering of culverts at Bummer Creek and Tunnel Creek (phase one of a three-phase repair project stemming from March 2025 flooding) and authorized payment of a $27,470.74 wastewater-treatment invoice to Three Rivers School District. Human Resources presented a long list of personnel requisitions across departments (airports, assessor, clerk/elections, community corrections, community development planning additions, facilities, juvenile justice, public health, public works), all of which the board approved without objection.
Human Resources Director Michelle Shaw also presented two CIS invoices totaling $185,781.63 related to workers' compensation claims and insurance overage; the board approved payment without objection. Under board business, the commissioners approved the Harbeck Meadows Phase 1 subdivision plat map and appointed Commissioner Ron Smith to fill the county vacancy on the Solid Waste Agency. The workshop adjourned at 3:41 p.m.
