Fiscal Court approves $10,000 for MPCAA, reappoints ethics commissioner and backs local purchases

A separate motion by Magistrate Travis to release the full $20,000 was called out of order by Judge Riley.
Judge Riley asked the court to approve the reappointment of Linda Bennett to a full three-year term on the Spencer County Ethics Commission; Magistrate Brewer moved and Magistrate Travis seconded the motion, which passed unanimously.
County Clerk Lynn Hesselbrock requested and received approval to renew her membership in the International Association of Government Officials, a renewal fee noted at $200 and identified as within the clerk's training budget under the $1,000 threshold requiring full court authorization.
Separately, the court approved purchase of a 2021 Ford F-250 for the road department for $29,858 (quote from Tim Short Auto Group) and authorized equipment installation (Galion dump body, electric tarp, Swenson spreader, and Boss plow among quoted items) from Kaffenbarger Truck Equipment for $33,058.
All actions were taken by roll-call votes recorded in the minutes as 'aye' by members present. The minutes do not include detailed contract terms for the equipment installation beyond vendor quotes; procurement documentation will supply final purchase orders and warranty/installation details.
