Spencer County approves $1.317 million MOA with state to resurface county roads

Spencer County Fiscal Court voted Nov. 16, 2020, to accept discretionary funding from the Commonwealth of Kentucky for a county road resurfacing project. The court passed a resolution authorizing a Memorandum of Agreement with the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet that provides $1,317,343 for resurfacing "various county roads."
The resolution explicitly accepts fund terms and authorizes the Judge/Executive to execute the MOA on behalf of the Fiscal Court. Magistrates approved the resolution by roll call vote following a motion by Esq. Beaverson and a second by Esq. M. Moody.
The resolution text states the Fiscal Court "does hereby ratify and adopt all statements, representations, warranties, covenants, and agreements contained in said Agreement and does hereby accept the funds provided in said Agreement and by such acceptance agrees to all the terms and conditions therein stated." The court also directed the clerk to certify the order and authorized the judge to sign the agreement.
Court members did not record any amendments to the MOA during the meeting. The administration will coordinate with the Transportation Cabinet to schedule resurfacing work on the identified county roads and comply with any reporting and matching obligations listed in the MOA.
