Fiscal Court approves routine contracts, grant signings and an appointment at May 17 meeting

Spencer County Fiscal Court used its May 17 meeting to approve several routine but administratively important items: a contract renewal for Abell Elevator, a County Clerk claim, a Ky. Tech cabling quote for the Clerk's office, authorization to accept a Waste Tire Grant, an intergovernmental ABC-administrator contract with the City of Taylorsville, and to note the appointment of Dustin Hedges as District 1 Constable.

The clerk's claim for preparing motor vehicle and boat tax bills for 2020 ($4,138.20) was approved on a motion by Esq. M. Moody and seconded by Esq. Travis. The county also approved a Ky. Tech quote to re-cable the clerk's office and install a network switch ($11,318.98) to support the county's new phone system. The court renewed the Abell Elevator inspection and maintenance agreement at $1,216.08 annually through Jan. 31, 2022.

Esq. Brewer moved (seconded by Esq. Travis) for the judge to sign documents for the Kentucky Waste Tire Grant application, a $4,000 program for counties to pay for tire disposal or recycling. The packet includes the Division of Waste Management requirements and reporting deadlines (invoices and number or weight of tires due July 15, 2022). The court also approved renewing a contract with the City of Taylorsville for the County ABC Administrator Designee to act for the city at $3,000 per year, and the clerk recorded Judge Riley's earlier appointment of Dustin Hedges as District 1 Constable to fill a vacancy through December 2022.

Members raised and accepted routine financial reports and vendor invoices listed in the packet. No items were continued for further hearing.
