Spencer County Fiscal Court authorized public bidding for two FEMA-related projects at its May 17 meeting: a replacement of the East River Road bridge and flood repairs at multiple locations on Little Crooked Creek Road.
The bid package for the East River Road Bridge Replacement describes demolition of the existing bridge, construction of a roadway diversion, relocation of a temporary bridge, and construction of a 70-foot-long by 16-foot-wide concrete box-beam bridge plus roadway work. The Little Crooked Creek project will cover excavation and paving at damaged locations.
The court directed staff to accept sealed bids until 2:00 p.m. Eastern on June 3, 2021, to be opened virtually at approximately 2:15 p.m. The bid notices require contractor prequalification with KYTC, Metro Louisville, Louisville MSD or demonstrated performance on similar projects, and require bonds for the work. The authorizing motion was made by Esq. Beaverson and seconded by Esq. J. Moody and passed unanimously. The court did not award contracts at the meeting; the action only authorized advertising and receipt of bids to be considered at a later date.
