Letters and requests in the meeting packet showed Mount Eden asking for $75,000 from the county’s $3,753,007 in ARPA funds for 5‑inch fire hose, 10 sets of firefighter personal protective equipment, a battery‑powered extrication tool, and swift‑water/dive PPE. The request explained that some gear is more than 10 years old and that equipment is needed to maintain response capabilities.
Judge Riley and the court heard the requests but took no action at the meeting. Separately, Riley presented a list of proposed pay‑rate adjustments across county departments (road crews, EMS, administration and others). Commissioners discussed individual percentages and anticipated budget impacts; the court postponed approval of pay‑rate changes to a future meeting.
EMS/EM Director Chris Limpp also briefed the court on grant opportunities for levee drainage slip‑lining and washover bridge replacement and reiterated FEMA grant match rates (75% federal, 12% state, 13% local). Limpp noted Med 3—one of the older ambulances—needs front‑end repairs.
