Spencer County Fiscal Court took action July 21 on multiple zoning applications and continued one pending engineering information.
Administrator Sweazy presented four second-reading zoning matters. The court approved Dennis and Connie Eisenback’s request to rezone a 6.383-acre tract at 787 Love Lane from AG‑1 to AG‑2, with a binding element requiring a site‑built home. The court also approved the Middleton parcel (AG‑1 to R‑1) and a Hardin parcel (AG‑1 to R‑1) based on planning commission recommendations.
A more contested vote involved Roger and Songia Harmon’s request to rezone Lot 22 of Camp Branch Subdivision from R‑1 (single‑family) to RM (manufactured‑housing residential). Judge Executive John Riley moved the motion, seconded by Esq. Travis; Esqs. Brewer and Beaverson voted Aye while Esqs. J. Moody and M. Moody voted Nay. The motion carried.
Finally, the court continued the Nicole Ruth Development LLC application to rezone 21 acres on Wills Way in Top Flight Landing from R‑1 to R‑2 until Fiscal Court receives a statement from Qk4 Engineers about the subdivision’s package wastewater treatment operations. Resident Lawrence Trageser had raised concerns during public comment about package treatment capacity in Top Flight Landing.
The court recorded the ordinance actions in its minutes and attested the votes; the continuation request is pending receipt of the Qk4 statement before the item returns to the court.
