County Judge/Executive Mason Barnes presided over the Simpson County Fiscal Court meeting on Nov. 1, 2022, where the court approved multiple fiscal and administrative items including the first reading of a FY22/23 budget amendment and a first reading of a zoning change for property on Witt Road.
The court approved the first reading of FY22/23 Budget Ordinance 220.244 Amendment No. 2 on a motion by Magistrate Scott Poston, seconded by Magistrate Marty Chandler. The vote was recorded in favor (Chandler, Downey, Poston, Thurman and Barnes). The court also approved a first reading of Zone Change Ordinance No. 920.121, which would rezone 9.406 acres located on Witt Road in Franklin—along the Tennessee state line—from AG to 1-2, as requested by L & W Properties and recommended by the Franklin-Simpson Planning & Zoning Commission following its Oct. 4 public hearing.
