Simpson County Fiscal Court approves $73,979.75 budget amendment, OKs bills and financial statement

Magistrate Marty Chandler moved for adoption and Magistrate Myron Thurman seconded; the amendment was recorded as approved by members present. The court also approved several budget transfers: $36,000 from the county transfer reserve to occupancy tax equalization (01‑5040‑314), $138.98 from transfer reserve to a DTF‑contingent appropriation (01‑5160‑999), and $2,449 moved into equipment/supplies for the fire department (01‑5120‑446). Nathaniel Downey moved the transfers, seconded by Scott Poston; the motion was recorded as ‘‘Ayes–All.’’
The court reviewed a detailed bills-and-claims list spanning multiple departments and vendors and approved payment as submitted. Magistrate Marty Chandler moved to approve the bills and claims and Magistrate Scott Poston seconded; votes were recorded as Chandler, Downey, Poston and Barnes voting yes and Magistrate Myron Thurman abstaining.
Magistrate Nathaniel Downey moved and Magistrate Myron Thurman seconded approval of the Oct. 31, 2022 financial statement, "subject to audit," and authorized signatures from Treasurer Nicole Law and Judge/Executive Barnes. That motion passed unanimously.
The meeting minutes list the vendors and line items approved for payment; specific invoice and account lines were entered into the record.
