Fiscal Court approves Water District appointment, clinic agreement, RFP and multiple budget transfers

At the Feb. 21 meeting the Simpson County Fiscal Court approved a mix of administrative, contractual and fiscal items.
The court approved the appointment of Larry Gomer to a four-year term on the Simpson County Water District Board effective April 15, 2023, replacing retiring member Joe Richards (motion by Scott Poston; second by Marty Chandler; yes—all). The court also approved a revision to the Graves Gilbert Clinic (GGC) WorkCare Agreement to add DOT physicals after the closing of Dr. Sutton's office with Verdant Healthcare; the amendment was approved by motion (Chandler/Thurman) as recorded in the minutes.
Judge/Executive Mason Bames and County Facilities Maintenance Supervisor Bill Rohrs were authorized to prepare an RFP for engineering and architectural services on a proposed building to house the offices of the County Clerk and the PVA. The court approved a long list of budget transfers reallocating funds among departments and accounts (line items and amounts were read into the record); the court also approved bills and claims for payment as submitted, listing numerous vendors and payroll items in the minutes.
The decisions are administrative approvals recorded in the minutes; the court did not adopt detailed contract language at the meeting and budget transfers will be implemented by the treasurer per the approved line-item actions.
