Simpson County moves IT into standalone county department after closed session

Judge/Executive Mason Bames had urged fellow magistrates and department heads to review proposed Information Technology & Cybersecurity Policies that will be included in the county's Administrative Code. Bames told the court compliance with the IT and cybersecurity policies will be necessary to maintain the county's cybersecurity insurance with KACo. County Attorney Sam Phillips told the court he reviewed the proposed IT policy and recommended minor changes.
