Later, the Equipment Committee recommended buying a MowerMax Boom Mower. Magistrate Marty Chandler said the boom mower is more expensive than a tractor-and-mower setup but offers longer useful life. The court authorized Public Works Director Bobby Groves to lock in the quoted price of $258,917.75 from ATMAX Equipment Company and directed County Treasurer Nicole Law to process a budget amendment to fund the purchase (motion by Chandler; second by Scott Poston; yes—all).
The court did not approve a construction schedule for the paving work at the meeting; both actions were recorded as authorizations and require subsequent procurement and budgeting steps.
