Simpson County officials announce $260 million Trader Joe’s distribution center project

County Judge Executive Mason Bames announced at the Feb. 7 Simpson County Fiscal Court meeting that a $260 million Trader Joe’s distribution center project is planned for Simpson County. He made the announcement during his routine reports and also noted a 10 a.m. ribbon cutting to celebrate an expansion by Worldwide Technologies on Reasonover Drive.
The judge executive asked court members to check the county portal within a few days to review a proposed Cyber Security Policy that would be added to the administrative code. He said adoption of such a policy is necessary for the county to retain cyber liability coverage from the Kentucky Association of Counties (KACo). The court did not vote on the cyber policy at the meeting; the announcement was a request to review the draft policy.
