Fleming County Fiscal Court approves financial reports, transfers and equipment purchases in unanimous votes

At its Dec. 8 meeting the Fleming County Fiscal Court approved November financial statements totaling $2.48 million, multiple budget and cash transfers (including a $50,000 transfer to the Road Fund), surplus equipment sale authorization, purchases of tractors and mowers, and scheduled a Dec. 23 special meeting for the second reading of an alcohol-license ordinance.
Fleming County Fiscal Court on Dec. 8 handled a slate of routine financial and procurement items, approving month-end financial reports, budget and cash transfers, equipment purchases, and authorizing surplus property sales. All recorded votes at the meeting were unanimous.
County Treasurer Kathy Dryden presented November 2020 month-end financials showing total funds of $2,478,904.36, including $1,497,988.96 in the General Fund and $344,629.03 in the Road Fund. The court approved the financials and then approved the budget transfers and cash transfers Dryden presented.
Among transfers approved was an additional $50,000 from the General Fund to the Road Fund. The court also approved the claims reports and the 2021 holiday schedule.
The court declared several road-department vehicles and equipment surplus and authorized sale through Chuck Marshall Auctions at the next scheduled auction. It approved purchases for county operations, including a 2016 John Deere tractor for $22,280, a Tiger rear flail mower for $7,220 and a Tiger side mower for $12,000.
The court approved the Fleming County Clerk's and Sheriff's month-end November reports. The sheriff requested $65,000 from Program Support (01-5015348) to pay off a 2020 advancement; the court approved that request and the record notes Sheriff Kinder said one bid was received for a 2020 Chevy Silverado from Cheap's and that the vehicle has been purchased.
The court also approved Resolution 20-1316 concerning Kentucky transportation funding mechanisms, and approved the first reading of Ordinance 20-1317 pertaining to Alcohol Beverage Control licenses and regulatory fees, authorizing publication by summary. The court set the second reading and passage of Ordinance 20-1317 for a special called meeting on Wednesday, Dec. 23, 2020, at 6:00 p.m. in the Fleming County Courthouse. The interlocal agreement between the county and city for local ABC administrative duties was not ready for presentation at the Dec. 8 meeting.
All motions and recorded votes on Dec. 8 were unanimous; the court adjourned at 10:32 a.m.
