Sevier County Steering Committee approves proclamations, confirms appointments and cancels July 15 meeting

The Sevier County Board of Commissioners Steering Committee unanimously approved multiple routine items on June 20, 2024, including three proclamations, three appointment resolutions and the cancellation of the July 15 regular commission meeting.

Mayor Larry Waters presented three proclamations recognizing James Randy Parton for service to Sevier County, the Gatlinburg-Pittman High School boys soccer team for winning the 2024 TSSAA Class A state championship and the Gatlinburg-Pittman girls basketball team for qualifying for the 2024 TSSAA Class AA state tournament. Commissioner Dale Hill moved to approve all three proclamations; Commissioner Aaron Foster seconded and the motion passed unanimously.

Mayor Waters also presented Resolution 2024-06-06 to confirm appointments to the Sevier County Regional Planning Commission, Resolution 2024-06-07 to appoint members to the Sevier County Board of Zoning Appeals, and Resolution 2024-06-08 to appoint judicial commissioners for Sevier County. Each resolution was moved, seconded and approved unanimously by the committee.

Finally, Mayor Waters asked the committee to cancel the regular Board of Commissioners meeting scheduled for July 15, 2024. Commissioner Carroll Rauhuff moved to accept the cancellation; Commissioner Dale Hill seconded and the motion passed unanimously. The meeting adjourned at 4:33 PM.
