Summary
Council approved plans to develop portions of the Snowflake Rodeo Grounds into a bike park and picnic area, and received updates on playground, dog park, pool and trail projects with an August–September target for a children's-area opening.
The Snowflake Town Council unanimously approved improvements to the Snowflake Rodeo Grounds to develop a bike park and picnic area, with fencing proposed to keep motorized vehicles out of the designated recreational space.
Brian presented a fly-over video of the proposed bike-park area and noted water is available at the site. Councilmembers discussed possible amphitheater locations and potential revenue from food and fuel sales tied to visitors. The council approved the rodeo-grounds improvements as presented.
Ella McAdams provided a capital-project update on improvements to the children's area, saying staff hope to finish work by August or early September and plan a big opening event. Brian also presented plans for a fenced dog park and retention area with walking paths and obstacles, described well-site improvements at Well 4, and showed proposed trail-system land acquisition and improvements; Brian said the plan is to connect the trail system through Brophy's land into Taylor.
The council approved an intergovernmental agreement with ADOT for a traffic signal (covered elsewhere on the agenda) and otherwise expressed support for continuing to expand recreation and trail projects in town.
