Snowflake council approves multiple land and zoning actions, designates municipal property signees

The Snowflake Town Council on July 6 approved several land and planning items including a land purchase from Taylor Snowflake Development LLC and a sale of parcel number 202-05-041 to Peter Paul for $70,200.
Brian presented maps of the parcels for the land purchase; council noted the town sewer currently stops at the Sundance subdivision but indicated it is upgradeable if needed. The sale of parcel 202-05-041 had taken place on the state's Public Surplus Auction Site; the council voted to approve the sale to Peter Paul of Las Vegas.
Council also designated the mayor and vice mayor as authorized signees for the Snowflake Municipal Property Corporation to allow signing of documents for land titled in corporate names. Joe Jarvis introduced himself prior to presenting a variance request for parcel 202-07-054E on behalf of Trevor Hatch; the council approved the variance. The council approved a special use permit for parcel 202-11-280A; staff noted the parcel previously had two single-wide units and the applicant said the property has functioned as a mobile-home park with plans to continue two units.
On zoning, the council conducted the second reading by title only and adopted Ordinance 2021-05 to rezone parcel numbers 202-38-009X and 202-38-009Y from R-8 to R-1. All of these items passed with recorded unanimous approval where a vote was noted in the minutes.
