Sevier County commissioners on Sept. 9 confirmed a slate of committee appointments and approved the board's final agenda for Sept. 16 during a roughly 20-minute Steering Committee meeting.
Mayor Larry Waters presented Resolution 2024-09-XX to confirm appointments of commissioners to standing committees. Commissioner Aaron Foster asked to swap committee assignments with Commissioner Dustin Weaver, moving Foster off the Education Committee and onto Emergency Services and placing Weaver on Education. Commissioner Carroll Rauhuff moved to swap the two commissioners and approve the remaining appointments; Commissioner Ronnie Allen seconded. The motion passed unanimously.
Following that vote, Mayor Waters presented the board's final agenda for Sept. 16, 2024. Commissioner Harold Pitner moved to approve the agenda; Commissioner Carroll Rauhuff seconded. That motion also passed unanimously. Later in the meeting, Commissioner Rauhuff moved to adjourn; Commissioner Allen seconded, and the meeting adjourned at 5:20 PM.
The actions taken were routine procedural steps to finalize committee assignments and set the board's upcoming agenda; no substantive policy debates or contested votes were recorded during the session.
