Clark elected commission chairman; Fuller chosen chair pro‑tem; multiple appointments and notaries approved

WINCHESTER — At its Sept. 18 meeting the Franklin County Board of Commissioners completed a slate of leadership votes and appointments.
Eddie Clark was re-elected chairman of the commission by acclamation, and Angie Fuller was elected chairman pro‑tempore; both were approved by voice votes recorded as unanimous. The board also confirmed nominations for standing committees and a slate of appointments to local boards.
Notable appointments included Carolyn Wiseman to fill the vacant District 2 Seat B; Lindsey Ladd was approved as the Decherd representative to the Animal Control Board; Barbara Lucas was appointed to the Board of Zoning Appeals; and David James was appointed to the Franklin County Regional Planning Commission. The commission approved an appointment of Willie Womack to the Consolidated Communications board.
Sheriff’s Civil Service Board: Louise Irwin was approved for a three-year term on the Sheriff’s Civil Service Board by voice vote (12 ayes with one abstention recorded by Commissioner Chuck Stines).
Notaries: Fourteen notary public applications were approved by roll call vote (12 ayes, one no by Commissioner Angie Fuller).
The meeting minutes and official appointment paperwork will be filed in the county clerk’s office and will be reflected in the county roster of boards and commissions.
