Dickson County Commission approves appointments and notaries; announces 9th District vacancy

The Dickson County Commission on Feb. 22 approved multiple board appointments and a list of notaries, and County Mayor Bob Rial announced a vacant commission seat.
Appointments approved by unanimous voice vote included Kristie Sullivan and Jeff Spencer to the Dickson Planning Commission (motion by Commissioner Carl Buckner, second by Commissioner Johnnie Reed); Paula Eleazar to the Dickson Water Authority Board (motion by Commissioner Jeff Eby, second by Commissioner Dwight McIllwain); Margaret Martindale, Sarah-Ann Jones and Chip Miller to the Civil Service Board (motion by Commissioner Becky Spicer, second by Commissioner Randy Simpkins); and Michael Shepard to the Board of Zoning & Appeals (motion by Commissioner Johnnie Reed, second by Commissioner Stacey Batey).
County Clerk Luanne Greer submitted a list of proposed notaries (including Karen Boswell; Brenda L. Botz; Jennifer P. Casteel; Brittany Collins; Ryan C. Garner; Stephanie R. Haile; Wendy Hyndman; Adam J. Lankford; Richard Lee; Dorothy B. Leegon; Katherine Linzy; Amanda F. Lovvorn; Faye Lunn; Amanda N. Johnson; Amandalyn R. Manley; Whitney R. Mione; Michelle Smith; Warren J. Vaughn; Tondalaya D. Waldrop; Ginger Wanamaker). Commissioner Dwight McIllwain moved to accept the notaries and Commissioner Clayton Ellis seconded; the commission approved the list by unanimous voice vote.
County Mayor Bob Rial commented on the life of Commissioner David Shepard and declared the 9th District commission seat vacant; he said rules to replace the vacant seat will be announced on March 1, 2021. The next regular session was scheduled for March 5, 2021 at 7:00 P.M. in the Buford L. (Booty) Reed Jr. County Commission Chamber of the Dickson County Administration Building.
