Commissioners authorize sewer easements, hear SS4A timeline and agree to contact Urban Oil & Gas over LaBarge parcels

Mary Crosby, Lincoln Countys grants writer, briefed the commissioners on sewer easements, treatment options, and grant procurement steps on Feb. 17. Crosby said Aquatech proposed a system that would provide redundancy without ongoing maintenance costs, but the county has not yet received the state contract for the grant award.
Crosby said the Safe Streets and Roads for All (SS4A) grant bid documents were approved by the Federal Highway Administration and will be advertised for three weeks; bids are due April 2. She recommended pursuing a quiet-title action for LaBarge old townsite lots that returned to the county after tax sale, citing documentation issues on surface rights.
Commissioner Melvin Shumway moved and Commissioner Teri Bowers seconded a motion approving Chairman Kent Connelly to sign the sewer easements after property owners sign; the motion passed unanimously. The board also voted unanimously to send a letter to Urban Oil and Gas Group regarding documentation of surface rights for the LaBarge parcels.
Crosby noted the county still awaits the state contract that would finalize the grant award. The board did not take additional action on the treatment option at the Feb. 17 meeting.
