The Bland County Board of Supervisors adopted the fiscal year 2023 county and school budget totaling $33,801,486 at a continued meeting on June 10, 2022, at the Bland County Courthouse. The School Board’s portion of that total is $10,645,513, which includes $2,688,516 in local funds.
Supervisor Stephen Kelley moved “to adopt by resolution the FY23 County and School Board Budget in the amount of $33,801,486 of which $10,645,513 ($2,688,516 local funds) is the School Board portion of the County Budget.” The motion was seconded by Supervisor Keith Costello. A roll call recorded Kelley, Costello, Kidd and Chairman Randy Johnson voting yea; the motion passed unanimously.
Earlier in the meeting the board approved the agenda. Supervisor Adam Kidd moved to approve the agenda “as presented,” seconded by Supervisor Keith Costello; that motion also passed unanimously. Chairman Randy Johnson called the meeting to order at 4:00 p.m., and Dr. Eric Workman, the county administrator, offered the invocation.
No additional debate, amendments or public comment on the budget were recorded in the meeting minutes. The board adjourned by unanimous consensus. The next meeting was scheduled for Tuesday, June 28, 2022, at 5:00 p.m. in the Bland County Courthouse.
