Bland County board approves conditional use permit and adds recreational facilities to commercial zoning

The board adopted a Conditional Use Permit for Tax Map No. 34A-A-25C on a motion by Supervisor Stephen Kelley, seconded by Supervisor Keith Costello. The board attached a single condition requiring the property "to be maintained in an aesthetic manner," and recorded a unanimous roll-call vote in favor.
The board also unanimously approved an amendment to the county zoning ordinance to add "Recreational Facilities" to the list of uses permitted in the Commercial District by conditional use permit. The motion was made by Supervisor Keith Costello and seconded by Supervisor Stephen Kelley.
Both public hearings were opened and closed by Vice-Chairman Kidd with no speakers from the public during either hearing.
