After executive session, Bland supervisors authorize modification to county administrator's employment agreement

The Bland County Board of Supervisors on Jan. 24 entered an executive session to discuss personnel matters related to County Administrator recruitment and transition and later authorized a change to the administrator's contract.

The board moved into executive session under Virginia Code §2.2‑3711(A)(1) to review County Administrator applicants and discuss transition planning. After returning to open session, the supervisors adopted the required certification under Va. Code §2.2‑3712 confirming that only the announced personnel matters were discussed; the roll‑call certification recorded all members voting "yea."

Following that certification, the board voted unanimously to authorize the county attorney to prepare a modification to Dr. Eric Workman's County Administrator Employment Agreement consistent with a board proposal and authorized the chairman to sign the modification on the county's behalf. The motion was made by Randy Johnson, seconded by Stephen Kelley, and recorded by roll call as unanimously approved.
