Bland County supervisors adopt FY22 financial report, move into executive session on administrator applicants

Present at the continued meeting at the Bland Cooperative Extension Office were Supervisors Keith Costello, Randy Johnson, Stephen Kelley and Chairman Adam Kidd; County Attorney Paul Cassell and Board Secretary Linda Miller were also listed as present.
Shortly after the financial-motion vote, Supervisor Keith Costello moved that the board go into an executive session to discuss personnel matters associated with County Administrator applicants under Virginia Code §2.2-3711(A)(1). Supervisor Stephen Kelley seconded that motion; the board voted unanimously to enter executive session. After concluding the closed session, the board returned to open session on a motion by Supervisor Stephen Kelley, seconded by Supervisor Randy Johnson.
The board then adopted a certification of the executive session under Va. Code §2.2-3712, with a roll call vote recorded as Costello—yea; Johnson—yea; Kelley—yea; Kidd—yea. The minutes note the meeting recessed and will continue Jan. 27, 2023, at 5:30 p.m. at the Bland County Courthouse. The minutes are signed by Chairman Adam Kidd and Clerk Eric E-Wash Workman.
