The Tazewell County Community Policy and Management Team on Jan. 29, 2026 entered a closed session to discuss foster care, CPS, Cumberland, Court Services and Tazewell County Schools cases and related funding. The motion to go into closed session was made by Robin Jackson, seconded by Arlene Matney and carried unanimously among those present.
After returning to open session the CPMT certified that the closed meeting complied with the Virginia Freedom of Information Act and statutory requirements in Va. Code §§2.2‑3711 and 2.2‑3712. The certification recorded a vote of AYES 5, NAYS 0, with three members absent.
Following the closed session, David Taylor moved and Robin Jackson seconded a motion to approve funding for services for the foster care, CPS, Cumberland and Court Services cases and for Tazewell County Schools as discussed in closed session; the motion carried unanimously. David Taylor then moved to approve funding for Foster Care Maintenance services not reviewed by FAPT; Robin Jackson seconded and the motion carried unanimously as well. The minutes note that case‑level specifics were discussed in closed session and therefore are not included in the public record.
The CPMT recorded several absences and two vacant representative seats; the meeting adjourned at 11:45 a.m. The next CPMT meeting is scheduled for March 23, 2026 at 10:00 a.m.
