Committee appoints Kristie Morlan to Alpena County Parks & Recreation Commission

The Alpena County Personnel Committee interviewed Kristie Morlan and approved her appointment to the county Parks & Recreation Commission on Feb. 3, 2026.
The interview took place after the committee added the Parks and Recreation Commission interview to the agenda. The committee entered closed session at 10:20 a.m. to discuss a personnel issue and union contract matters and returned to open session at 10:55 a.m. After resuming open session, Commissioner Todd Britton moved to appoint Kristie Morlan to the Parks & Recreation Commission; Commissioner John Kozlowski supported the motion and it carried.
The committee recommended appointment of Morlan for a term effective Feb. 10, 2026, through Dec. 31, 2027. The motion carried; the minutes record the appointment as Action Item #2.
Earlier in the meeting, a public commenter, Bonnie Friedrichs of Spruce, inquired about the status of her personnel file. Deputy County Administrator Jennifer Mathis also reported there were no employee separations for January. The meeting adjourned at 10:57 a.m.
