The Benzie County Board of Commissioners authorized a four‑year interlocal agreement on April 23 to form a Regional Medical Examiner’s Office with Manistee County and Dr. Lois Goslinoski.
Motion by Commissioner Sauer and seconded by Commissioner Markey, the board authorized the agreement, subject to approval of its form by legal counsel, and authorized the chair to sign. The motion passed unanimously with Commissioners Cunningham, Jeannot, Markey, Nye, Roelofs and Sauer voting aye; Commissioner Warsecke was excused.
Commissioner Jeannot noted an uptick in Dr. Goslinoski’s engagements and requested that she be invited to a future meeting to address commissioners directly. The agreement is intended to formalize regional medical examiner services and provide shared capacity across counties; transcript details indicate the agreement will proceed to legal review before execution.
