The board voted to accept a proposal from Straight Line Fence for the kennel yard fencing in an amount not to exceed $22,000 and approved a $20,000 budget amendment to accept the donation. Commissioner Cunningham moved the motion; Commissioner Sauer seconded. The motion passed by roll call with unanimous ayes and Commissioner Markey excused.
During the meeting Chair Bob Roelofs thanked the Animal Welfare League for the donation and for its partnership on renovations to Animal Control: “We can’t thank them enough for their partnership throughout the county and the things that they do,” Roelofs said.
The county will issue the contract and apply the donor funds to the kennel-yard project. The motion documents the donation and directs staff to proceed with the fence installation under the stated budget constraints.
