The Charlevoix County Transportation Authority met in person Dec. 9, 2025, and approved the Nov. 13 meeting minutes and $9,402.43 in November bills, the authority’s records show.
The approvals came early in the brief meeting. Pat Klooster moved to approve the Nov. 13, 2025 minutes "as presented," and Michael Cunningham seconded; the motion passed on a voice vote, 3-0. Later the board voted on the November monthly bills totaling $9,402.43; the motion was seconded and carried on a roll call vote, 3-0.
Why it matters: the votes clear routine administrative business and maintain the authority’s payment schedule and recordkeeping. The meeting also provided a short operational update from transit staff about seasonal work and upcoming procurement steps.
Transportation Coordinator Joe Kroll reported operational items for the authority. "The Ferry has been winterized and the 2025 season is over; there will be some Spring maintenance," Kroll said. He added that he is working on a request for proposals for "Machin," improvements to internet service, and a Huntington Bank point-of-sale prospect for transit operations.
No manager’s report was given; the meeting record notes that Manager Gordie Russell was not present. There were no public comments during the session. The meeting was called to order at 9:00 a.m. and adjourned at 9:03 a.m.
The record does not specify further dates for maintenance work or the RFP schedule; staff will likely report those details at a future meeting or in written reports to the authority.
