Fulton County authorizes two state probation grants and acknowledges stipend plan

Fulton County commissioners on Dec. 9 approved two state grant awards for adult probation programs and formally acknowledged a retention plan for probation staff.
Chief Probation Officer Dan Miller presented a 2025–2026 Intermediate Punishment Treatment Grant for $35,000 and a 2025–2026 Continuing County Adult Probation/Parole Grant for $28,800. Commissioner Steven L. Wible moved to authorize Commissioner Randy H. Bunch to sign the Intermediate Punishment Treatment Grant; Commissioner Hervey P. Hann moved to authorize signature on the Continuing County Adult Probation/Parole Grant. Both motions were recorded as all in favor.
The board also acknowledged a Retention Efforts Letter from Dan Miller describing a stipend to be paid from monthly supervision fees retained in a restricted account that can only be spent by the President Judge for the Adult Probation Department. The acknowledgment does not itself enact the stipend but records the department’s plan and the funding source.
