Fulton County approves HAVA-funded door security upgrades and TelePlus service plan

The board voted to accept a TelePlus quote to install a keycard fob on the Voter Registration/Election Office door and authorized Elect IT contractor Rick Grissinger to install additional cameras above the Commissioners’ Office and the Voter Registration/Election Office. The work will be funded by the 2024 HAVA Elections Security Grant in the amount of $3,000, as presented by Voter Registration/Election Director Linda Doyle. Commissioner Steven L. Wible moved to approve the quote; the motion was recorded as all in favor.
Separately, the board approved a TelePlus Protection System Extended Service Agreement for the Silver Maintenance Coverage Plan for $14,040.56, effective Jan. 1, 2026, through Dec. 31, 2026. That motion was presented and approved without recorded opposition.
County officials said the upgrades are intended to strengthen physical security at public-access points tied to election operations and county administration. No contract cost details beyond the HAVA-funded $3,000 allocation and the TelePlus service amount were recorded in the meeting minutes.
The board did not set a public timeline for the camera or keycard installations during the meeting. The work was presented as a vendor recommendation and approved for procurement and installation.
