Fulton County commissioners adopted their 2026 pay scale and approved new HR manual language establishing a health-insurance opt-out payment for eligible employees at the Jan. 13 meeting.
HR Administrator Mary Huston presented the proposed pay scale; Commissioner Hervey P. Hann moved to approve it and the motion passed unanimously. The board approved revised language in Section 212 ("Employee Benefits") of the HR manual describing the opt-out payment: eligible employees who waive insurance will receive a pro-rated monetary payment with a calendar-year maximum of $1,020 (described in the minutes as $85 per month equivalent). The policy excludes the waiting period when calculating payment, and specifies that the opt-out payment will be paid with the final payroll in December or upon resignation; employees must leave in good standing to receive the payment.
Separately, the board approved hiring Angie Horton as an Enforcement Officer I in the Domestic Relations Department with an effective date of Jan. 26, 2026; the Salary Board met separately to set the new hire’s salary in accordance with the collective bargaining agreement.
The actions were recorded in the minutes and will be implemented by the county's Human Resources and Domestic Relations departments.
