The Morton County Commission unanimously reappointed Nathan Boehm as chair and elected Commissioner Buckley as vice-chair at its regular meeting on Jan. 11, 2024, at the Morton County Courthouse in Mandan. The board approved routine business including the agenda, minutes and bills before turning to reorganization and other agenda items.
Auditor Dawn R. Rhone presided over nominations for chair and vice-chair. Commissioner Leingang nominated Boehm for chair; Commissioner Zachmeier moved and Commissioner Morrell seconded to cease nominations and cast a unanimous ballot, reappointing Boehm. For vice-chair, Leingang nominated Zachmeier and Morrell nominated Buckley; ballots were cast and Buckley was elected vice-chair.
