The board also accepted a $400,000 CHIP (Community HOME Investment Program) grant from the Georgia Department of Community Affairs with a required local match of $40,174 (approximately $26,320 cash and $13,854 in-kind). The CHIP program funds owner-occupied single-family home rehabilitation; the board approved associated policies and eligibility rules as part of the vote, which carried 3-0.
Commissioners noted the auditor's report and financial documents will be posted on the county website for public review. The audit acceptance is conditional on the board's 30-day review period; the minutes record no objections during the meeting.
