Board to consider multiple appointments and an alcohol license application at May 8 meeting

County Clerk Miriam Jordan briefed the Tift County Board of Commissioners on routine appointments and one retail alcohol license application during the May 2 workshop.
Jordan said the terms for Jim Laycock and Dustin Pitts on the Greater Tift County Planning & Zoning Board expire at the end of the month; both indicated willingness to serve another five-year term and no other applications were on file. She also said terms for Steve Hyman, Dickie Robinson and Montoya Crockett on the Tift County Athletic Advisory Board expire at month end and that all three are willing to serve another three-year term.
On the DFCS board, Jordan said Carol Bell is willing to serve another five-year term. Jordan added that Betty Jean Prince resigned from the Tifton–Tift County Library Board and that an application from Claudia W. Parker was received to fill the unexpired seat through June 2024. The board asked staff to place these appointments on the May 8 regular agenda.
Jordan also reported an alcohol beverage license application submitted by Nehaben Patel for Jogni, LLC at 5070 GA Highway 125. Jordan said the sheriff's office reviewed the application and recommended approval; the board indicated the item should be placed on the May 8 consent agenda for formal action.
