Tift County awards $1.395 million LMIG resurfacing contract, approves grants and maintenance contracts

On April 10 the Tift County Board of Commissioners approved a consent agenda that bundled eight items, including grant awards, maintenance contracts, and county resurfacing procurements.
The Criminal Justice Coordinating Council grants included $2,406 for the Tift County DUI–Drug Court and $4,325 for the Tift County Adult Felony Drug Court. The board approved E&R payments for the Tax Commissioner totaling $11,754.88 and authorized an Eaton UPS maintenance contract for $9,361.
For the county's FY23 LMIG resurfacing work, staff presented an addendum to an agreement with Watkins & Associates for $19,040 to be funded from SPLOST VI and the board issued a Notice of Award to Reeves Construction and authorized the chairman to execute a construction contract in the amount of $1,395,684 to be funded from LMIG and SPLOST VI.
Commissioner Paul Webb moved to approve the consent agenda; Commissioner Donnie Hester seconded and the motion carried 6-0. The minutes do not record dissenting discussion or additional contingencies tied to the contract award in the session notes.
