Tift County approves engineering addendum and awards Puckett Park construction contract

The addendum was approved by motion (seconded) and carried 6-0.
Bids for the construction work were opened June 5; Carter said there was a single bidder, Standard Contractors, Inc., at $351,126.78. He said the project will be funded with American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) dollars and SPLOST VI and that staff will separately solicit bids for playground equipment. The board authorized issuance of the Notice of Award and directed the chairman to execute the construction contract; the motion carried 6-0.
