Screven County commissioners approve administrative items, agree to research Hospital Authority and table an Airport Authority appointment

At its Oct. 13, 2020 meeting, the Screven County Board of Commissioners approved routine minutes and several administrative items, agreed by consensus to restart work on the Hospital Authority, and tabled an Airport Authority appointment.
On motions recorded in the minutes, the board approved the meeting agenda and minutes for Sept. 8 and Sept. 29. Commissioners approved purchasing a .gov domain at $400 a year and authorized email hosting up to $2,500 a year; both votes carried unanimously.
The board agreed by common consent to begin recruiting members for the Hospital Authority and asked County Attorney Hubert Reeves to research how many members are required. An Airport Authority appointment was deferred until the November meeting to allow a volunteer time to complete an application.
Commissioner Michael McBride moved that the board enter executive session at 10:40 a.m. to discuss litigation; the board returned to open session at 11:19 a.m. on a motion by Commissioner Edwin Lovett. The board then approved executive session minutes for Sept. 29 and Oct. 13. Chairman Will Boyd adjourned the meeting at 11:20 a.m.
