Screven County approves grant amendment, online payment system and administrative policies

Screven County commissioners approved a series of administrative items on Feb. 9, 2021, including changes to a USDA Rural Development grant application, an online payment system for tax collection, a new addendum for county email/cloud services, a travel team policy for the Recreation Department, and authorization for the Road Department to proceed with specified road work.
Brett Dickerson presented an amended USDA Rural Development grant application in which the county will purchase three vehicles rather than four; the county match for the amended application was recorded as $89,419. Commissioner J.C. Warren moved to approve the amended application and to use SPLOST funds for the county match; Commissioner Mike Dixon seconded the motion and it carried unanimously.
Tax Commissioner Andrea Waits requested approval to implement an online payment system; the board approved the system and funded maintenance/support at $1,250 per year on a motion by Commissioner Warren, seconded by Commissioner Dixon, carried unanimously.
The board approved Addendum #1 authorizing CRC to facilitate and administer the county's email and cloud service after Commissioner Lovett moved for approval and Commissioner Dixon seconded. Recreation Director Truman Anderson recommended a Travel Team Policy; the board approved the policy on a motion by Commissioner Dixon and second by Commissioner Willis. In reports, the board approved crush-and-run and mesh laying and authorized the Road Department to perform the work.
All of the above motions were recorded in the minutes as carrying by unanimous vote on Feb. 9.
