Screven County approves several board appointments, renews audit contract and names interim county manager

At its May 11 meeting the Screven County Board of Commissioners took several administrative actions: they appointed members to local boards, renewed an audit contract and, after an executive session, named an interim county manager.
Commissioner John O. Triplett moved to appoint Charles Lee to the Library Board; Commissioner Allison Willis seconded and the motion passed unanimously. Triplett also moved to appoint Michael Newton and Patrick Mills to the Airport Authority; Commissioner Romeo seconded and that motion passed unanimously.
Commissioner J.C. Warren moved to appoint Mary Clare, Melissa Beasley, Kaitlyn Stossmeister and Kendell Clark to the Hospital Authority Board; Commissioner Triplett seconded and the motion passed unanimously. Warren also moved to appoint Josh Kaiser and Dr. Sidney “Joe” Morgan to the EMS Regional Board; Commissioner Lovett seconded and that motion passed unanimously.
Commissioner Triplett moved to renew a contract with Traylor Business Services for personal property audits; Vice‑Chairman Warren seconded and the renewal passed unanimously.
The board entered executive session at 11:35 a.m. to discuss personnel and returned to regular session at 12:40 p.m. Chairman Will Boyd announced that Personnel Director/Finance Officer Lori Burke has been named Interim County Manager. The minutes contain an internal name discrepancy: the attendee list identifies the personnel director as Lori Boulineau earlier in the minutes and later as Lori Burke; the record does not reconcile the two names.
Also discussed during the meeting were FY 2021–2022 budget requests, during which Sheriff Mike Kile said the sheriff's office urgently needs three new patrol vehicles. The minutes note the American Rescue Plan portal is open and county staff await guidance from the Association County Commissioners of Georgia (ACCG) on permissible uses.
