Coffee County commissioners approve surplus property sale and beer-and-wine license

The Coffee County Board of Commissioners on March 1 approved several routine items, including declaring surplus property for sale and approving a beer-and-wine license for a local convenience store.
County Administrator Wesley Vickers told the board the county would list a 2010 Crown Victoria (serial number 2FABP7BV7AXI23194) and 23 pieces of well casing pipe from the Fire Department on GovDeals. Commissioner AJ Dovers moved to approve the surplus sale, Commissioner Ted O'Steen seconded, and the vote was unanimous.
Attorney Tony Rowell reported that an application from Bhaumikkumar Patel for a beer-and-wine license for Quick Gas at 1656 Highway 221 North in Douglas had been properly posted. Commissioner Johnny Wayne Jowers moved to approve the license, Commissioner Jimmy Kitchens seconded, and the board unanimously adopted the motion.
The board thanked the two long-serving Sheriff’s Office employees recognized earlier in the meeting. No public comments were offered before the board adjourned at 9:51 a.m.
